The TPAS Awards go from strength-to-strength 'Connecting People' and 2011 sees three new categories added to reflect the work taking place the length and breadth of England by our diverse membership and non-members.
Following extensive consultation and feedback from our valued entrants, we will be recognising and rewarding three new category of awards; the best Young Tenant of the Year, the Tenant / Resident Involvement Team of the Year and presenting an Equality and Diversity award.
These three new categories will be in addition to the following established six titles that are up for grabs:
- Best Practice in the Community
- Best Practice in Supporting People
- Best Practice in Youth Involvement
- Tenant liaison officer of the year (landlord)
- Tenant liaison officer of the year (contractor)
- Tenant of the Year
New for 2011
- Young Tenant of the Year
- Tenant/Resident Involvement Team of the Year
- Equality and Diversity Award
Each award will be contested in three regions; North, Midlands and South, with each regional category winner going forward to the National Final where the 2011 National category winners will be crowned.
To reflect the current economic climate and help support members, the regional category winners will be announced at three glittering lunchtime awards ceremonies (starting at 12 noon) to help keep expenditure to a minimum.
Regional award ceremonies
Northern – 11th February 2011 at the Palace Hotel, Manchester
Midlands – 1st April 2011 at St John's Hotel, Birmingham
Southern – 6th May 2011 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Central London
National award final
The National TPAS Awards Final 2011 ceremony will be held during TPAS's annual conference. Date & venue to be advised soon.
Award entries
Entries are welcome from TPAS members and non-members including tenants, registered social landlords, local authorities and ALMOs, as well as companies who work in the social housing sector in England. All nominations will be judged by TPAS and for 2011, the Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Sarah Webb will be leading the panel.
