Book your place at the TPAS Conference
Friday 25th February, 2011
Bookings are now being taken for the 2011 TPAS Conference – the largest tenant conference in the UK.
Now in its 16th year, the conference is attended by over 700 delegates from across England including leading figures from the world of social housing.
There is a new cost-cutting format for 2011 with the conference held over two weekdays on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th July instead of previous three-day events that have run into the weekend.
Also new for 2011, is a TPAS TV trailer for the conference which can now be viewed at www.tpasconference.org.uk.
TPAS Chief Executive, Michelle Reid, said: "Last year's conference was held at a time of great uncertainty with the new coalition government promising huge cuts in public spending. One year on, the cuts are now starting to be understood in more detail and it's clear that social housing tenants and providers are bearing the brunt.
"The conference provides a crucial space for tenants and providers to come together and discuss how best to work through the current situation.
"TPAS firmly believes landlords and tenants have to work together more closely than ever before in order to maximise affordable housing and put tenants at the heart of all the key decisions. Making those tough decisions together is the best route out of this recession.
"The conference will outline the challenges ahead, while the debates, workshops and showcased work will provide tenants and housing providers with the information and tools they need to succeed."
TPAS TV will be on air throughout the conference after it proved so popular with delegates last year and visitors are once again able to make use of the TPAS diary room to record their opinions on film.
A roving reporter and cameraman will also be covering the debates, workshops and seminars before footage is edited to bring regular reports on the big screens in the hotel and on the televisions in hotel rooms.
The conference takes place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and bookings can be made at www.tpasconference.org.uk/create_booking
