North section shortlist announced for TPAS Awards 2011

TPAS has announced the shortlist for the north section of its 2011 Awards.
Over 400 nominations were received for categories including Best Practice in Supporting People, Best Practice in the Community and Tenant of the Year awards.
To reflect TPAS’s diverse membership, three new categories have been added with nominations received for the Young Tenant of the Year, Team of the Year and Best Practice in Equality and Diversity awards.
TPAS Chief Executive, Michelle Reid, said: “We have been inundated with nominations and the quality has been incredibly high again and the most pleasing aspect is the fantastic work is continuing to take place across the north of England by tenants and landlords despite the cuts and uncertainty in the sector.
“The judges said receiving so many excellent submissions made it really hard narrowing it down to just a handful for each category but they are all very worthy entries.
“We are looking forward to learning more about the work and schemes that are taking place across England shortly as the Central section deadline closes on January 28 which will come around quickly following the Christmas break.”

Winners of the following categories will be announced on 11 February at the Palace Hotel, Manchester:
- Best Practice in the Community
- Best Practice in Supporting People
- Best Practice in Youth Involvement
- Tenant liaison officer of the year (landlord)
- Tenant liaison officer of the year (contractor)
- Tenant of the Year
- Young Tenant of the Year
- Team of the Year
- Best Practice in Equality and Diversity
